BASQUE TRADITIONS

You will know the basque traditions like the basque rural sports and cider houses.

GUIDED TOUR AND REMONTE MATCH IN FRONTON GALARRETA (ON THURSDAYS AND SUNDAYS AT 15.15 PM)
Feel yourself as a "remonte player" for a day! We invite you to come down to the court with one of our players and feel the speed of the ball and the sensation of fitting a basket in your hand. We will explain you the rules of the game and how we make the balls and the baskets in an artisan way.

THE CIDER AND THE SEA (FROM JUNE TO SETEMBER , FROM TUESDAY TO SUNDAY) 10.00 AM OR 16.00 PM.
Tour a museum, eat in a cider house and sail the coast. A perfect plan to discover and enjoy the culture of cider and the sea. Discover our culture of cider making and enjoy a typical cider house menu together with the txotx ritual in an atmosphere full of good humour and laughter.

THE IGARTUBEITI FARMHOUSE MUSEUM
Igartubeiti was built in the mid-16th century. It is a magnificent example of the golden age of Basque farmhouses. In the early 17th century it underwent extension work and major changes to adapt it to changes in working methods and the way of life. Much of its original structure is still in excellent condition. This, together with the large cider press the interior, makes it one of the most interesting farmhouses anywhere in the Basque Country.
The Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa purchased the Igartubeiti farmhouse in 1992 to prevent it from being demolished. After a complex restoration process that has been widely described as exemplary, it looks just as it must have in the early 17th century.
The interior has been turned into a museum where visitors can see a direct recreation of what life was like in a Basque farmhouse 400 years ago, with original lighting, furnishings and tools, and a recreation even of the typical smells of which such a building would have been redolent.
